Hey 👋

I currently write for Seaside Escape. Beyond the commodification of my skills and labor, I design ttrpgs, write apocalyptic romance, and bend the dark arts of rhetoric toward healing in my community.

In the past, I've designed and written for Card Hunter, Skyline Secrets, Merge Tales, Merge County, Gossip Harbor, and Puzzle Legends, in addition to creating my own games Every Day, Once A Day, Help! I Took My Brother to a Halloween Party and the Popular Kids Want to Sacrifice Him to a Demon!, Blindoak Prow and Laboratory Mayhem. Outside of games, I have also worked as an editor and web designer.

Card Hunter

Effie L Schwartz-Craighill designed and built several expansions for digital card game Card Hunter. This image shows a sampling of things they worked on: module covers, encounter design, cards, and art direction for character and monster figures. The Card Hunter logo is superimposed over all these samples.

Puzzle Legends

Effie L Schwartz-Craighill was a writer and narrative designer at Microfun, where she worked on Puzzle Legends and Merge Tales. Pictured are some screenshots from the Puzzle Legends mobile game: a character collection screen, a title screen with the Puzzle Legends logo, a character banner, and a few character bios.

BlindOak Prow

As part of small indie endeavor Position Matters, Effie L Schwartz-Craighill did the lion's share of the design and writing for Blindoak Prow, a digital multiplayer strategy card game. She also programmed the whole thing. This image shows some screenshots and art from the game: a battle screen, a deckbuilder screen, various landscapes, and a fan of cards. The Blindoak Prow logo is front and center.

Laboratory Mayhem

Out of college, Effie L Schwartz-Craighill and some friends formed Lixivium Games, which went on to successfully kickstart and deliver their physical card game, Laboratory Mayhem. Effie was in charge of card development and balance, as well as co-directing the business side of things. Pictured here are some people playing Lab Mayhem in a board game cafe, a big spread of Lab Mayhem cards, and various smaller illustrations from the game's cards, as well as a fan of rare cards and a shot of the Lab Mayhem box.
